Application Procedure

All degree seeking students must complete and submit NCCC's Application for Admission for Matriculated Status.  Applications can be obtained from high school guidance departments, directly from the Enrollment Management Office at PO Box 89, Saranac Lake, NY 12983-0089, or you can Apply Online.  The application process is free of charge.

All degree seeking students should submit official transcripts of previous academic work including a high school transcript or copy of a GED, transcripts from previous colleges, and military records (DD214's) to the Enrollment Management Office once the Application for Admission has been completed.  The results of standardized tests such as the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT) may be submitted, but are not a requirement for admission.  Those planning to transfer to a four-year college should give attention to such examinations where necessary.

Students not seeking a degree from NCCC may register for classes at the Registrar's Office on a non-matriculated basis.  Should a non-matriculated student desire to work toward a degree at a later date, he or she must apply to the Enrollment Management Office for a change of status.  If the student is accepted to matriculated status, all related courses successfully completed will apply toward a degree. The Enrollment Management staff is available to assist students in establishing their educational goals and completing registration procedures.
