Academic Vacancies:

 

North Country Community College is currently seeking daytime adjunct instructors for Introduction to Windows-Based Software for the Malone campus for the Fall 2010 semester (August 31st-December 17th). Classes are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 am until 10:50 am and from 11:00 am until 12:20 pm.

Professional Vacancies:

Malone campus of North Country Community College

NCCC seeks a part-time librarian to provide library service at their Malone campus.  One of three campus libraries, the Malone campus library has small reference, circulating, and periodical collections.  Most library research is conducted on-line using SUNY Connect and other electronic resources.

The part-time librarian will report to the Library Director and will be responsible for keeping the library open 32 hours per week.  He or she will work one-on-one with students conducting library research, will conduct on-line research presentations for classes, and will handle all inter-campus loan materials coming into Malone.  Duties will also include reference service for students, faculty, and members of the community, serials check-in, and the day to day running of the library.  The part-time librarian will communicate with the Library Director about the resource and service needs for the Malone campus library as well as technological and other issues impacting library service.

The work schedule for this position will include both day and evening hours during the fall and spring semesters.  The Malone campus library is closed during the summer.

 

Library experience is required.  An ALA accredited MLS is preferred.

This work involves the performance of a variety of routine building cleaning tasks.

Typical work activities include, but not limited to:

  • Maintains floors (including sweeping, mopping and stripping)
  • Dusts and polishes furniture and other equipment
  • Gathers and disposes of refuse
  • Cleans and washes bathroom floors, walls, sinks, toilets and mirrors
  • May plan, schedule, conduct, and evaluate fire drills
  • Clears snow and ice from walks and driveways
  • Makes periodic inspections of building security, checking boilers and observing for fire hazards
  • Does related work as required

Working knowledge of building cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to follow oral and written directions; willingness to perform cleaning and other manual tasks; ability to read and write; physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position.
