Library
The Library houses more than 60,000 books, 160 journal titles and a variety of audio-visual materials. In addition, the Library participates in a number of computerized network consortiums which provide access to more than 57 million books, journals, and other learning materials owned by 40,000 libraries throughout the United States, Canada, and the world. A number of electronic resources are available on campus over the Internet, including full-text of journal articles and e-books. The Libraries electronic book catalog NorPac is available from home or other Internet enabled computers.
Study carrels, casual seating, and audio-visually equipped desks provide a comfortable environment for research and study. The Library also houses the Adirondack Collection and the Nettie Marie Jones Fine Arts Collection. The Adirondack Collection consist of historical materials pertaining to the Adirondacks, dating back to the early 1800's. The Nettie Marie Jones Fine Arts Collection consist of the former Lake Placid (NY) Center for the Arts' Fine Arts Collection.
Libraries are also located at the teaching sites in Malone and Ticonderoga. These libraries can call on the resources of the Saranac Lake campus Library as well as the Interlibrary Loan System of OCLC and the Northern New York Library Network (the former North Country Reference and Research Resources Council).

Who may borrow material from the Library?
- Any student of NCCC who is currently in good standing
- All NCCC faculty, administrative and supporting services staff
- All adult residents of Essex and Franklin Counties, New York, who are able to produce current identification verifying residence (such as a driver's license or its equivalent)
- Juvenile residents of Essex and Franklin Counties whose parents provide the required identification and who sign a statement of responsibility for their children's use of the material.

- Phonograph records
- Selected audio-visual media
What kinds of materials cannot be checked out?
- Reference books
- Periodicals (current and back issues)
- Microforms

How do I check out materials?
Present your library card to the Circulation Desk attendant (NCCC student library card or Community Borrower's card). You must have a card in order to check out library material. Community residents may receive a Borrower's Card upon application at the Circulation Desk and presentation of current identification, which will verify their address.
Please do not attempt to remove material from the Library without checking it out at the Circulation Desk, as our Book Control System will indicate that the material is not checked out by sounding an audible alarm.
