Two North Country Community College students, Chris Stephenson and Carly Walbridge, have been selected as recipients of the 2010 State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. Each year SUNY honors outstanding students who have integrated academic excellence with other aspects of their lives, which may include leadership, community service, the arts, athletics or career achievement.
State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) Commissioner Karen M. Carpenter-Palumbo today announced OASAS Certified Education and Training Providers will offer free tuition for unemployed New Yorkers to enter the addictions workforce, now one of the nation’s top 10 growing occupations. more info...
First day for 532 new students and new President, Dr. Carol Brown
Over 375 Freshmen, 157 Transfer students and 1 President, began their first day as a “Saint” attending New Student Orientation on all three campuses of North Country.
Students from over 12 different states and 4 countries descended onto each campus for the only day the campus will be all theirs and theirs’ alone. Farthest traveler within the United States was from Oceanside, California while a five-way tie is yet to be settled between some “lads” from England.
Of special note, Dr. Carol Brown assumed the Presidency of North Country Community College today. Dr. Brown becomes the fifth president of North Country Community College since its founding in 1967. When her fellow newly inducted Saints learned of the shared day, a rousing round of applause and cheers ensued.

NCCC Hosts 2009 NJCAA Men's Ice Hockey National Championship
North Country Community College hosted the 2009 National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship. Six of the league's teams meet in the Saranac Lake February 26 - March 1, for a chance to claim the national title. more info...
North County Community College will be offering forty two courses during the upcoming 2009 summer session. A wide variety of courses ranging from health care to fine arts will be held across all three campuses. A series of distance learning courses, which can be taken from the comfort of home will also be offered. more info...
January 2009 - International Travel Students Return from Ireland
Thirteen students and two faculty members traveled to Ireland, Wales, and England as part of a Winter 2009 International Travel course. International Travel Humanities offers a choice of 1-3 credits for traditional or non-traditional students. Community members are welcomed to tour with our students, for an enlightened experience in another country, focusing on culture and history, as well as fine and performing arts. more info...
December 2008 - NCCC releases RAVE Program Website
RAVE stands for Reducing Alcohol Binging and Violent Experiences. The new website will disseminate information about activities and resource information such how to seek assistance from local and regional agencies for student and faculty use. more info...
Board of Trustees Approves Master Plan for Saranac Lake Campus
The North Country Community College Board of Trustees passed a resolution at its September monthly meeting supporting the Master Plan concept for the new Saranac Lake campus. The concept includes, amongst other features, the renovation of several buildings, new classrooms, a new library, a new student center, an auditorium, a field house, and new parking areas. more info...
