North Country’s main campus in Saranac Lake, New York, is nestled in the High Peaks region of the Adirondack Mountains and just seven miles from America’s Olympic Capital - Lake Placid. In 1980, North Country was declared the Official College of the 1980 Winter Olympics and since that time, the College has maintained a strong working relationship with the Olympic Regional Development Authority and the United States Olympic Training Center. North Country has been one of the fastest growing community colleges in the State University of New York and was ranked the #1 best community college in New York State by Washington Monthly, 2010.
The College provides a progressive liberal arts and science based curricula in conjunction with professional degrees in Nursing, Massage Therapy, Radiologic Technology, Business, Computer Graphics, and Human Services. Many transfer options are available to all of our graduates.

North Country Community College offers seven different sports programs. Intercollegiate athletic opportunities are available for women in varsity soccer, cross country, basketball, and softball programs. Men's varsity programs include soccer, cross country, and basketball.
North Country is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), the national governing body for two-year college athletics. The NJCAA is divided into 24 different regions.
North Country is a member of Region III, composed of schools mainly from New York State and the northeastern part of Pennsylvania. Region III has 26 member institutions making it one of the largest within the NJCAA and among the leaders in National Champions.The Sparks Athletic Complex houses excellent on-campus sports venues for the basketball and soccer teams, as well as an Olympic size swimming pool, state of the art weight room, and trailheads for hiking and cross country.
The Athletic Department continually strives to help student-athletes achieve both academic and athletic excellence. We take pride in the many teams that have achieved Conference, Regional, and National honors.
