Sports & Events Management

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:  Big games, awesome concerts, can’t-miss festivals – none of them happen without skilled event managers and planners behind the scenes. At North Country, those kinds of events are in our blood. We were the official college of the 1980 Winter Olympics, held in Lake Placid, just minutes from our Saranac Lake campus. And our Sports & Events Management program was developed in collaboration with New York State’s Olympic Regional Development Authority. You’ll benefit from those connections: Our presence in one of the world’s best recreation destinations, the 6-million-acre Adirondack Park, means you’ll get practical, hands-on experience right in your backyard as you dive into the field while completing your required internship. And you’ll learn from experts, as our faculty work at many of the same Adirondack venues that draw hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
