Email to Students: Remote Learning

Dear Students:

As you are aware from previous communications, North Country faculty and staff have been diligently monitoring and planning in response to the recent Coronavirus outbreak.  We want to keep all of you in the loop regarding the planning efforts around the potential spread of the Coronavirus and the possible disruption of classes and other college activities. As we are seeing, conditions are changing rather quickly across the country.  We will keep everyone informed as soon as we have any updates.

At this time, we have NO confirmed cases of COVID-19 in either Franklin or Essex County, and classes are to proceed as usual unless we receive a different directive from the State University of New York (SUNY), and/or our county and state departments of health.  We have been in daily contact with SUNY and the New York State Dept. of Health regarding any updates or need to take further action other than universal precautions to protect against transmission of the disease.

While classes are in progress, we are still busy planning for any disruption of classes or other college events.  At this point, we are asking all of you to evaluate your ability to complete school work remotely, whether that is communicating online or participating in webinar-style classes.  At a minimum, this participation would require internet access and an electronic device (laptop, tablet, or phone).  Faculty and staff are also evaluating their best options to continue delivering instruction in the event of an extended suspension of face-to-face classes. You may have already heard from them regarding this possibility.

We are cataloguing all available resources and want to provide as much support to students as possible.  ​If you DO NOT have the ability to work remotely either due to lack of internet access or an electronic device, please email the following address:  remote.support@nccc.edu.  We cannot account for everyone's needs, but we want to do what we can to assist where possible.
