Historic Ticonderoga hosts the newest North Country facility. The college is meeting future educational needs in the area with its 18,000-square-foot Ticonderoga campus building, completed in 2005. In addition to the range of programs and courses offered now, new academic programs are in the initial planning stages to better serve students as they work toward achieving their educational goals on the southernmost shores of Lake Champlain.

Overlooking the scenic LaChute River, the Ticonderoga campus includes a Learning Assistance Center, six general classrooms, a student lounge, kitchen, office space and laboratory space for computers and biology classes. The location is easily accessible to students in the I-87 corridor and in neighboring Vermont.

In addition to nursing programs, the Ticonderoga campus also offers liberal arts, health science and individual studies degrees, along with several certificate programs. College officials continue to explore other program offerings for the campus.

Faculty, staff and student camaraderie is a hallmark of the Ticonderoga campus, according to Selina LeMay-Klippel, the college's Ticonderoga campus coordinator.

“We’re great at supporting each other, but we also like to have some fun,” she said. “We like to enjoy each other and I think the common denominator in all this is we all love our students.”

“The faculty are always willing to go the extra mile to help students,” said Tom McGrath, a social science instructor at the Ticonderoga campus. “I think that’s a big reason the students like it here. They don’t feel like they’re just being thrown into the mix. I think they feel like the faculty care about them doing well.”
