Betsy Davison - Director of Library Services
Betsy began serving as the Director of Library Services at North Country Community
College (NCCC) in Spring 2026. She and her family are recent transplants to the Saranac
Lake community, returning to her grandmother’s hometown after growing up in Central
New York. Betsy earned her Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Geneseo in 2004 and her Master
of Information and Library Science from the University at Buffalo in 2005.
She brings experience as a Library Media Specialist in K–12 education, a Youth Services
Librarian in the public library setting, and a Reference Librarian in academic and
medical libraries. Her professional passion is rooted in the belief that equitable
access to information, ideas, and stories supports lifelong learning and growth, while
fostering empathy and a deeper understanding of the world.
Outside of work, Betsy enjoys time with her active young family, where there is never
a dull moment. Much of her free time is spent supporting the exploration of their
passions—whether on a sports field, ice rink, horseback, or with a good book in hand.
