Chris KnightCommunications Director

Chris joined North Country as its communications director in August 2017 and enjoys working with students, faculty and staff to help tell the story of the college. Before arriving at the college, he worked in the journalism field for 16 years, including as the senior staff writer for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise in Saranac Lake, the Adirondack correspondent for North Country Public Radio and the news director for the Mountain Communications radio stations in Saranac Lake. In his former life (LOL), Chris worked in the environmental field for the Adirondack Mountain Club, Appalachian Mountain Club and the National Park Service.

Away from work, Chris enjoys hiking, skiing, mountain biking, camping and just about anything else in the outdoors. Chris is also a long-suffering Cleveland sports fan (Browns and Indians), so please have pity on him. He and his family live in Saranac Lake, where Chris serves on the board of the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Saranac Lake Youth Baseball and Softball Association.
