Shir Filler
Shir Filler has been teaching at NCCC since 1998. Before that, she was editor of the Lake Placid News, but also a barista, waitress, seamstress, store clerk, gardener, and student (BS in Earth Science from MIT, MA in English and Creative Writing from NYU). She spends a lot of time in the woods: hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing. Otherwise, she loves writing, reading, and thinking and helping students to love those activities as well. Her nonfiction writing has been published in Adirondack Life and The Sun magazines.
