"The Pathless Woods" play readings set for Malone, SL

North Country Community College will host two readings of the play "The Pathless Woods" by renowned playwright Karen Lewis. The performances will take place Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. in the Mills Mezzanine on the college's Malone campus, and Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. in Mulholland Hall S-19 on the Saranac Lake campus

Wilderness Rec Students Complete 24-day Expedition

Students in the college's Wilderness Recreation Leadership program recently completed a 24-day expedition in the Adirondack backcountry. The Fall Practicum includes both paddling and backpacking, and gives students the leadership skills and outdoor experience the need to become guides, outdoor educators and other recreation professionals.

NCCC, DOL, SUNY highlight Apprenticeship Program

The college is partnering with the state Department of Labor and SUNY to help stem the staffing crisis for businesses and give employees the skills and training they need to grow their careers through the Registered Apprenticeship Program. Specifics of the program were outlined Tuesday, Oct. 1at a Human Services Industry Roundtable on the college's Saranac Lake campus.

College welcomes new student trustee

North Country recently welcomed Shia Bright to our college Board of Trustees! As our student trustee, Shia will be a voice for our students on all matters that come before the board. A native of Gouverneur in St. Lawrence County, Shia is a second-year student in our Environmental Science program and is the treasurer of the college Student Government Association.

Registration Open for Fall 24 Pottery Classes
