NCCC, DOL, SUNY highlight Apprenticeship Program

The college is partnering with the state Department of Labor and SUNY to help stem the staffing crisis for businesses and give employees the skills and training they need to grow their careers through the Registered Apprenticeship Program. Specifics of the program were outlined Tuesday, Oct. 1at a Human Services Industry Roundtable on the college's Saranac Lake campus.
College welcomes new student trustee

North Country recently welcomed Shia Bright to our college Board of Trustees! As our student trustee, Shia will be a voice for our students on all matters that come before the board. A native of Gouverneur in St. Lawrence County, Shia is a second-year student in our Environmental Science program and is the treasurer of the college Student Government Association.

Chancellor visits NCCC to celebrate state funds for nursing, mental health

- State University of New York Chancellor John B. King Jr. today joined North Country Community College President Joe Keegan, Assemblymember Billy Jones, and the NCCC community to celebrate the college's expanded healthcare workforce training and investments in mental health resources for students on campus made possible by $8 million in additional operating funding for community colleges included by Governor Hochul and the legislature in the 2024-25 enacted State budget.
Enrollment up 8 percent for Fall 2024 semester
