Kathleen Dowd-Maloney
Kathleen Dowd-Maloney is an Assistant Professor and the Chair of the Human Services Department at North Country Community College (NCCC). She is an alumna from NCCC, earning an AAS degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling in 2008. She graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelors in Social Work in 2010 and received her Masters of Social Work at SUNY Albany in 2011. Kathleen started teaching at NCCC in 2011.
Kathleen has experience as a Licensed Master Social Worker providing therapy to children, adults and families with mental health and substance use disorders. Most of her field experience has been providing crisis intervention to individuals in Franklin County, New York. Her passion is advocating for justice and equity for all, along with meeting the needs of those less fortunate.
Kathleen has lived in the North Country her entire life. She is married and has 4 children, a dog and three cats. She enjoys being involved in community events, cooking, and spending time outside.
