Virtual Presentation on the 'Twinkie Defense'

The college is excited to host a virtual presentation with Dr. Jerrod Brown, founder and CEO of the American Institute for the Advancement of Forensic Studies.

The program, titled "A Neurocriminological and Nutritional Neuroscience Exploration of the 'Twinkie Defense': A Look Back and Lessons Learned," will take place April 14 from noon to 1:30 pm. To receive the Zoom link for this virtual presentation and Q&A, email smascia@nccc.edu.

Dr. Brown is a professor, trainer, researcher, and consultant with many years of experience teaching collegiate courses. He is also the founder and CEO of the American Institute for the Advancement of Forensic Studies (AIAFS). Dr. Brown has also conducted over 300 workshops, webinars, and on-demand trainings for various organizations, as well as professional and student audiences. He has published several articles and book chapters, and recently, co-edited the book Forensic Mental Health: A Source Guide for Professionals (Brown & Weinkauf, 2018) with Erv Weinkauf. He is also featured regularly on several national and international podcast programs.

This is program is open to all. In particular, it is an excellent opportunity for students in the college's Criminal Justice, Allied Health, Human Services, Biology, Social Sciences, and Humanities programs.
