SARANAC LAKE – Local businesses seeking to hire new employees can connect with North Country Community College students looking for jobs for free using a new service offered through the college.

The New York Community Colleges Jobs Consortium, powered by College Central Network, allows employers to post an unlimited number of jobs to both current North Country students as well as alumni.

Employers of all kinds – large and small, public and private – can visit www.CollegeCentral.com/nccc, register for a free account and post available positions. Nearly 60 employers in the region are already using the service.

Christine Conover, a recent graduate of North Country’s Business Administration program, was hired as the bookstore manager for the North Country Community College Association this summer after setting up a profile using College Central Network.

“I really liked how CCN was easy to navigate, walked me step by step through the resume building process, and offered great advice,” Conover said. “After graduation, I made the necessary adjustments to my resume, uploaded it to the website, and sure enough, I was noticed. I highly recommend joining to any college student who’s looking to start a career path and to any employer who is seeking reliable, educated employees.”

In addition to North Country students and graduates, job postings on College Central Network will also reach thousands of job seekers from other community colleges across the state.

“The consortium of employers looking to recruit community college graduates is what sets College Central Network apart from other employer  recruitment platforms,” said Kim Irland, North Country’s Interim Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. “We love that our students can access employers across the region who truly value their community college credentials and workforce readiness, and the employers within the consortium likewise benefit from not only our students’ engagement but also students from community colleges across the state.”
