Digital and Fine Arts
It’s one thing to be creative - it’s another to cultivate that creativity, to explore possibilities and discover directions you hadn’t considered. The college offers a Fine Arts program and a Computer Graphics and Design program that give you the tools to express your inspiration and prepare you for transfer and study of a more specialized interest.
Our Fine Arts program exposes you to a range of artistic disciplines, from drawing and sculpture to computer graphics. Courses in art history provide perspective as you develop your own style and vision through studio classes and projects. The liberal arts component of the program matches the bachelor’s of fine arts curriculum taught at four-year institutions; three required core electives give you the breadth and depth to explore your interests while preparing you for transfer and study of a more specialized interest.

NCCC's Computer Graphics and Design program emphasizes a thorough grounding in traditional art skills at the same time that you’ll master modern techniques. You’ll learn basic concepts of graphic design while using the same hardware and software favored by professionals, mastering vector and raster-based drawing programs. This hands-on experience helps develop skills essential to producing multimedia, print and web-based designs. At the same time, though, you’ll also build hand-art expertise with courses in drawing and design, and gain a deeper appreciation for the classics with studies in art history - ensuring that your aesthetic grounding is as developed as your technical skills. Our students have participated in internships with Pixar and have transferred with full scholarships to four year institutions such as The School of Visual Arts in New York City.
