Combine an aging population with a growing number of patients entering the health care system, and it’s easy to see why the demand for health care workers has outstripped the supply.
The Health Science program at North Country Community College gives you the opportunity to gain broad exposure to the field while you weigh various career options, with classes in nutrition, first aid and chemical addiction. Hands-on experiences, such as going on-site with a care provider in Intro to Health Sciences, give you real-world perspective on the field.
At the same time, you’ll complete required courses necessary for transfer into a bachelor’s degree program, such as biology, chemistry and anatomy, while rounding out your education with classes in core subjects such as math, English and the humanities. Your faculty advisor will work closely with you to ensure you pick the appropriate courses for you to transfer to a four-year program matching your interests.
