Oct. 23, 2024
TICONDEROGA – North Country Community College is pleased to announce that it has been named the Organization of the Year by the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce.
The award was announced at the chamber’s annual Community Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Knights of Columbus in Ticonderoga.
“The 2024 Organization of the Year award goes to an organization that is a wonderful supporter of the community and other organizations,” chamber President and CEO Matthew Courtright said in presenting the award. “(North Country) is a key partner in the region and an educational leader. They partner with the chamber on employment programs, trainings, workshops, and many community events. Their team is always willing to step up when needed and coordinates consistently with the chamber and the community. This organization is always there when needed and is a TACC Member in support of all our efforts.”
The Organization of the Year award was accepted by Portia Burke, the college’s Ticonderoga campus Academic and Career Advisor, and Selina LeMay-Klippell, Coordinator of Workforce Development, Health and Human Services.
College President Joe Keegan extended his thanks to the chamber for this important recognition and called it a “testimony to the good work by our Ti colleagues within the community on behalf of the college.”
In addition to the Chamber’s recognition, award recipients received citations from the New York State Senate and Assembly.
Recipients were nominated and voted-upon by chamber members, the community, staff, and the chamber Board of Directors.
