Foundation Scholarships
The North Country Community College Foundation makes a variety of scholarships available for both full-time (minimum of 12 credits) and part-time students (minimum of 6 credits) based on academic performance, program and/or financial need.
The application process for the next round of scholarships will open on May 1, 2025.

Criteria:
- Open to residents of Clinton, Franklin, Essex, Herkimer and Oneida Counties
- Full-time student
- Cumulative 2.5+ GPA
- Demonstrate financial need
- The maximum award is $500
Criteria:
- Be enrolled in a program leading to RN licensing
- 22 years of age or older
- Experience in providing some sort of health-related service, such as to family members, as a home health aide, or volunteer in a healthcare services environment desired
- The maximum award is $2,000
Criteria:
- Currently an NCCC Liberal Arts student pursuing a later transfer for a teaching career OR a student in the Nursing Program pursuing a career as an LPN or RN
- Be a student 25 years of age or older starting his/her second-year
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- The maximum award is $1,000
Criteria:
- A graduate of Lake Placid Central School District or a current resident of Lake Placid
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- Demonstrate financial need
- The maximum award is $500
Criteria:
- Registered as a full-time or part-time student in the field of Environmental Science
- Cumulative 2.5+ GPA
- Demonstrate financial need
- The award is $1,000 for a full-time student, $500 for a part-time student
Criteria:
- Be registered at NCCC on a full-time or part-time basis
- Cumulative GPA 2.0+
- Demonstrate a love for the outdoors
- Demonstrate a financial need
- Preference will be given to those who are interested in criminal justice studies
- The maximum award is $600
Criteria:
- Be registered to attend NCCC on either a full-time or part-time basis
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude and be a leader in supporting other students
- Demonstrate financial need
- The award is $1,000 for a full-time student, $500 for a part-time student
Criteria:
- Be a second year or returning student
- Cumulative 3.2+ GPA
- Demonstrate financial need
- No disciplinary actions at NCCC
- Preference will be given to those participating in athletic activities
- The maximum award is $500
Criteria:
- Be a resident of Franklin County
- Be registered to attend NCCC on a full-time basis
- Demonstrate financial need
- The maximum award is $1,000
Criteria:
- Be a second year, returning NCCC student
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- Have made a significant contribution to the College community particularly as it relates to the advancement of the mutual interest of students, the college or the community
- Show exemplary leadership skills while at NCCC and demonstrate such leadership characteristics
while actively participating in NCCC sponsored or community activities such as coordinating
a community based program, being captain of an athletic team, etc.

- Be a full-time NCCC student enrolled in Saranac Lake RN program
- Cumulative 2.5+ GPA
- Demonstrate financial need
- The maximum award if $1,000
Criteria:
- Be a returning student attending NCCC on a full-time basis
- Cumulative 2.0+ GPA
- Demonstrate financial need
- Preference will be given to students 25 years of age or older pursuing an Environmental
Science major
- The maximum award is $1,300
Criteria:
- Be registered to attend NCCC on either full-time or part-time basis
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- Preference will be given to students who have discontinued their education and are
returning to complete a certificate or degree
- The award is $1,000 for a full-time student, $500 for a part-time student
Criteria:
- Registered in the ADN nursing program on a part-time or full-time basis
- Female student with dependents
- Malone Campus preferred
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- $500 award
Criteria:
- Be a second-year student
- Be enrolled in AS or ASS Degree Program in Business with plans to pursue a four-year degree in accounting
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- If necessary, a first year student will be considered for the scholarship, as long as they plan to pursue a four-year degree in accounting upon graduation. GPA from high school will be taken into account.

- Be a full-time student at NCCC enrolled in the RN program on the Malone Campus
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- Have solid plans to continue on to a BSN program
- The maximum award is $1,000
Criteria:
- Second year, full-time student
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- Demonstrate financial need
- Preference will be given to students 25 years of age or older pursuing an Environmental
Science major
- The maximum award is $1,300
Criteria:
- Second year, full-time or part-time student
- Cumulative 2.75+ GPA
- Demonstrate financial need
- The maximum award is $500
#1 - Nursing, Radiologic Technology or Mental Health Scholarship in honor of the Franklin County Home Bureau. The award is based on academic achievement.
#2 – Radiologic Technology or Criminal Justice Scholarship in honor of the Warren County Home Bureau. The award is based on academic achievement.
Criteria:
- Second year, full-time student
- Cumulative 2.85+ GPA
- Student must live in one of their organized Home Bureau counties: Buffalo City, Carraraugus,
Cayuga- Tompkins, Chautauqua, Chemung, Chenango, Clinton, Dutchess, Erie, Franklin,
Herkimer, Jefferson, Monroe, Niagara, Oswego, Renseeleaer, Schenectady, St. Lawrence,
Steuben, Wyoming.
- The maximum award is to be determined
Criteria:
- Recipient must be a dependent or immediate family member of a police officer killed or disabled in the line of duty
- Must be enrolled in NCCC as a full-time student and maintain good academic standing
- Provide a letter from the police department’s chief official (on department letterhead)
verifying the law enforcement officer’s service
- The maximum award is $9,000
Criteria:
- Be a returning student attending the NCCC Tulloch Campus (Malone)
- Excel in leadership and service both in school and community - the Rotary motto is “Service Above Self”
- Student must reside in Franklin County
- The maximum award is $500
Criteria:
- Be a returning female student who has demonstrated enthusiasm and great interest in the field of healthcare
- Reside in Granville, NY or in Franklin or Essex County
- Be a nursing student (or related medical field)
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- The maximum award is $1,000
Criteria:
- Reside in Franklin, Clinton or St. Lawrence Counties
- Cumulative 2.5+ GPA
- Demonstrate community and/or college service
- Attend NCCC either full-time or part-time
- The award is $1,000 for a full-time student, $500 for a part-time student
Criteria:
- Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces
- Demonstrate a financial need
- Cumulative 2.5+ GPA
- The award is $1,000 for a full-time student, $500 for a part-time student, and must cover non-tuition expenses
Criteria:
- Student Enrolled at the Ticonderoga campus
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- $1,000 for full time student, $500 for part time student
Criteria:
- Student Enrolled at the Malone campus
- Cumulative 3.0+ GPA
- $1,000 for full time student, $500 for part time student
