Neurodiversity Workshop Open to Community

SARANAC LAKE -- Dr. Maria Rheaume, PsyD, will present “Strength-Based Approaches to Autism, ADHD, Developmental Disabilities, and Other Differences” at the college’s Saranac Lake campus.
This free workshop for providers, families and students will take place Monday, March 31, at 3 pm in S-19 Mulholland Hall.
Explore affirming approaches to the intersection of mental health, developmental differences, and other forms of neurodivergence.
Topics include:
- Defining different types of neurodiversity
- Strengths related to Autism, ADHD, and other kinds of neurodivergence
- Explore the various approaches that are available and encouraged
- Supporting the mental health of neurodivergent people
- Navigating support resources
This event is open to the community. Its content was developed by a team that includes neurodivergent youth and their parents from Essex County, mental health professionals and other providers. This workshop is presented in partnership with Building Resilience in Essex Families (BRIEF) and Mountain Lake Services.
