Donations, cards collected for Veterans Day 2024

Nov. 8, 2024

SARANAC LAKE – As Veterans Day approaches, a group of North Country Community College staff and faculty have been leading an effort to recognize, thank, and support our veterans.

A student smiles at the camera as she signs a card for a veteranAt both our Saranac Lake and Malone campuses, tables have been set up to collect donations that will be put together in care packages for deployed service members. Items accepted include socks, powdered drink mixes, beef jerky, toiletries, protein bars and more. These tables are located in Reshetkina Hall on the Malone campus, and in Hodson Hall, the Connector and the Learning Assistance Center on our Saranac Lake campus.

Each table also provides the opportunity to write a card thanking veterans for their service, which along with the care packages will be sent to active duty service members in time for the holidays.

Additionally, the Malone campus once again is commemorating Veterans Day with a Missing Person Table in Reshetkina Hall.

It’s not too late for anyone -students, staff, the public- to drop off donations or sign a card. Thank you to all for supporting our veterans!
